Snowshoe Hike

During the winter, once the snow has settled, snowshoeing is a fantastic way to explore the landscape and keep an eye out for the northern lights.
Snow-covered mountains and a hushed winter stillness set the scene for a magical outing. And with the thrill of possibly spotting the aurora overhead, each hike becomes a personal and unforgettable experience—no two are ever the same.

360° Northern Lights View from the Lighthouse

Just a few steps from your room, you’ll find our lighthouse viewpoint—a perfect place to watch the aurora dance across the sky and reflect in the fjord below.
Order a hot drink package and enjoy it in the cozy warmth of the lighthouse while you wait. There’s seating inside, and it's the ideal spot to stay comfortable on chilly nights.

Northern Lights Tour Along the National Scenic Route

Want to see more of Senja while hunting for the northern lights? Join us for a guided tour along the National Scenic Route, winding along the dramatic west coast.
Spectacular skies and rugged peaks create breathtaking photo opportunities.

If the forecast looks better in other areas, we may adjust the route—every corner of Senja offers stunning backdrops for aurora viewing. (And by the way, this route is just as spectacular by day!)
