Hiking tours
Senja is a hiker’s paradise situated in the heart of Northern Norway. With its rugged coastline, majestic mountains, and pristine wilderness, Senja offers endless opportunities for outdoor hiking adventures. A truly down-to-earth and sustainable experience delivered by our guides following the “leave no trace” philosophy.
Whether you’re a seasoned mountaineer or a casual hiker, Senja has something for everyone. From leisurely strolls along the coastline to challenging hikes up to the island’s highest peaks, there are hiking paths to suit every level of fitness and experience.
The island’s diverse landscapes offer a range of different hiking experiences, from the verdant virgin forests and tranquil lakes of Ånderdalen National Park to the dramatic coastal cliffs and rugged mountain terrain of Segla and Okshornan.
And with its unique position on the edge of the Arctic Circle, Senja’s landscape is bathed in a “mystical” Arctic light that makes for a truly unforgettable hiking experience. Hiking in the golden rays of the midnight sun at night is for sure also a one-of-a-kind experience!
Guided tours are available for smaller and bigger groups. Groups up to 7 persons can be transported to the hiking destinations by electric car, while groups up to 15 persons can use e-bikes. Some routes can be reached by kayaks (we have around 20 kayaks), while some routes can start on foot from the resort. Bigger group tours can also be arranged upon request.
Some of the most popular mountains of Senja is the iconic peak of Segla and the quite easily accessible mountain Husfjellet and Hesten, offering breathtaking views of the fjords: Sukkertoppen mountain can be reached directly from Hamn by foot. Whether one seeks adventure or simply are looking to soak up the beauty of Northern Norway, Senja’s mountains are sure to impress.
